Rare, the last representative of Toruń talers from the year 1638.
Variety featuring the small initials I·I of Johann Jacob Jacobson von Emden, warden of the Toruń mint, combined with large date numerals.
An exceptionally well-preserved piece, certified with the second-highest grade in the NGC census – with only one example graded higher at the time of this auction listing. The coin appears to have been graded rather conservatively by NGC, as its brilliant mint luster and outstanding freshness are nearly impossible to match among surviving Polish talers. A coin of breathtaking quality, certain to become a source of pride for its future owner. An unparalleled state of preservation!
Undoubtedly one of the most significant offerings among Toruń talers – a true centerpiece for any elite collection.
