Rare ducat of John II Casimir from Gdańsk, representing the third issue of this denomination. Variety with the date in the legend and the obverse beginning with IOA.
Certified by NGC in a holder with the grade AU DETAILS. The coin is slightly bent, which explains the absence of a numeric grade, yet it retains an appealing appearance – with strong mint brilliance, the reverse even displaying a prooflike character.
A rare date, offered here in a highly attractive state of preservation. A ducat in the most precious metal, sure to enrich any serious collection of John II Casimir’s coinage.
Obverse: along the inner rim, crowned bust of the ruler, right, with the Order of the Golden Fleece on the chest
