Very rare Danzig denar struck under the reign of Sigismund II Augustus in 1552.
The coin is classified in Kopicki with the rarity rating R8. Importantly, it was unknown to Tyszkiewicz. In contrast, Białkowski–Szweycer assigned it a rarity rating of R6, which more accurately reflects its actual rarity on today’s market.
A beautiful specimen, graded NGC MS62, the highest and only such grade in the NGC census.
