The last issue of thalers took place in 1794-1795, when nearly 182,000 pieces were minted. The new mint rate lowered the fineness of the metal and its weight to such an extent that these thalers were called "light thalers". During the Kościuszko Uprising, the state's needs were so great that it was decided to use stamps with the date 1794 also in the following year. A total of seven different reverse stamps were used.
