John II Casimir, Thaler Danzig 1649 GR - VERY RARE, GEDANENS, decorative loop

Very rare and unlisted variety with the inscription GEDANENS and a cartouche made of woven ribbons tied at the bottom with a decorative loop.

The first vintage of Jan Casimir's Danzig thalers, minted during the period when minting small coins was prohibited in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

Obverse: bust of the king in a shaded crown and armor with a high collar of a shirt decorated with lace, a chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece on the chest
