The Pragmatic Sanction of April 19, 1713, was an edict of Emperor Charles VI, which declared that hereditary titles could be inherited by women. This concerned the title of Archduke of Austria, King of Bohemia and Hungary and other possessions in Germany and Italy, which at that time were in the possession of the Habsburgs.
