One of the oldest joint-stock banks, founded in Galicia in 1869 as the Galician Bank for Trade and Industry S.A. Known mainly for being in financial trouble and being bailed out many times. It was eventually taken over in 1930 by the Discount Bank of Warsaw S.A.
