The organization was founded in 1921 on the initiative of 11 students of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Warsaw. Six principles were identified as ideological foundations: freedom, equality, fraternity, unity, harmony and tolerance.
On the obverse there is a Latin motto "Unitas vim creat" ("Unity creates strength").
On the reverse is the maker's signature "KG" and the silver fineness 2 (875).
