Commemorative thaler struck under Duke Alexander Carl, celebrating the importance of mining in Anhalt-Bernburg (Segen des Anhaltischen Bergbaues – “Blessing of Anhalt mining”).
The distinctive reverse with its inscription and mining symbolism, together with the heraldic bear of the duchy on the obverse, makes this issue one of the most recognizable and sought-after 19th-century mining thalers.
