Thler struck at the Hall mint in 1628 under Archduke Leopold V of Habsburg (1619–1625), Prince of Tyrol and Further Austria.
The coin combines a stately portrait of the ruler with the rich heraldry of the Habsburg dynasty, emphasized by the surrounding chain of the prestigious Order of the Golden Fleece.
