Issue struck at the Hall mint in 1701, during the reign of Emperor Leopold I Habsburg (1657–1705).
Leopold I talers are particularly valued for their rich heraldry and expressive portraits of the emperor, reflecting the baroque splendor of the Habsburg era. The specimen from the Hall mint is among the more common issues, yet in well-preserved condition it represents a highlight of any Habsburg taler collection.
