Struck in 1786 to commemorate the homage paid by the Silesian Estates to Friedrich Wilhelm II upon his accession to the throne. The medal symbolizes the loyalty of Silesia to the new Prussian monarch.
Obverse shows the bust of the king in armor and cloak with the order insignia; reverse bears the inscription NOVA SPES REGNI (“New hope of the kingdom”) within a laurel wreath, with dedication below.
