Extremely rare PROBE in tin, Ingenio Et Arti medal of King Stanisław August Poniatowski.
Medal not listed in the Hutten-Czapski and Raczyński catalogues.
In the study "Coins of Stanisław August Poniatowski" by the duo Janusz Parchimowicz and Mariusz Brzeziński, we read about the trial issues as follows: "The main period of creation of trial coins falls in the years 1765-1766. The king paid a lot of attention to the appearance of the future coins. The coins were to be beautiful and clearly refer to the trends of European art. Since there were no specialists in Warsaw, medalists from various centers were invited to cooperate. The subject of the design were all types of coins of the new ordinance. Most of the designs with the date 1765 remained in the trial phase."
Test issues were minted in gold, silver, copper and soft lead and tin.
