Thler struck at the Kremnica mint in 1763 during the reign of Maria Theresa, one of the most prominent rulers of 18th-century Europe. The type depicting the Madonna, patroness of Hungary, is among the most iconic and widely collected issues of the Hungarian mints under the Habsburgs.
