A rare ducat struck at the Berlin mint in 1733 during the reign of Friedrich Wilhelm I (1713–1740), known as the "Soldier King". This coin reflects the period of Prussia’s military and fiscal consolidation under the Hohenzollerns.
The variety bears the initials EGN, referring to Ernest Georg Neubauer, mintmaster of the Berlin mint from 1725 to 1749.
