Thaler struck at the Munich mint in 1810 under Maximilian I Joseph, the first King of Bavaria.
The coin emphasized Bavaria’s elevated position in Europe after the Napoleonic reorganization, symbolically presenting the monarch as ruling “for God and the people.”
