Rare Prussian groschen struck at the Königsberg mint in 1595, during the rule of George Frederick of Ansbach (1543–1603).
Georg Friedrich, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach and grandson of Albert of Prussia, became administrator of Ducal Prussia in 1578, ruling in place of the mentally incapacitated Duke Albert Friedrich. His regency secured stability in the region and maintained Prussia’s status as a Polish fiefdom, under the overlordship of the Polish Crown.
