Very rare denomination of the Order's coinage.
Albrecht's groschen, minted from 1513, survived the difficult period of the war with Poland (1519–1521), which severely strained the local economy. Over time, the silver content in coins began to be reduced (the so-called Tippelgroschen), which led to their devaluation, and finally, after the secularization of the Teutonic state in 1525, to their replacement with a new currency. All these factors make them rare on the collector's market today.
The 1516 specimen confirms the uniqueness of this issue, it is a coin almost unheard of on the auction market.
