The Czechoslovak ducat was modeled after medieval and Renaissance ducats, with its design referencing the national patron saint – St. Wenceslas. Issued during the interwar period (1923–1939), these ducats were intended both as symbols of national identity of the young state and as prestigious presentation and collector’s pieces.
