Rare issue for Transylvania.
The ducat struck in Alba Iulia (Karlsburg, today in Romania) recalls the importance of Transylvania as a strategic part of the Habsburg monarchy. The region was permanently incorporated into the Habsburg Empire after the wars with the Ottoman Turks.
The gold ducats of Charles VI are highly esteemed issues, and pieces struck in Transylvania are particularly sought after on the collectors’ market due to their limited mintage and historical significance.
Specimen with traces of original mint luster, slightly bent.
A remarkable opportunity to acquire a rare ducat of Charles VI struck in Transylvania.
