Taler struck at the Düsseldorf mint in 1819 during the reign of Friedrich Wilhelm III, King of Prussia.

This issue reflects the military strength of the Prussian state after the Napoleonic Wars and symbolizes the growing role of Prussia in Europe. The reverse design emphasized victory and the monarchy’s military power.
