Very rare SILVER medal made by Jean Rouvet, commissioned by the Polish Emigration Committee in Paris, minted after the capitulation of Warsaw to the tsarist troops.

Signed ROUVET.

Mint luster on both sides.


Obverse: eagle in flight with the Polish-Lithuanian banner floating against the background of battlefield, Byzantine-style church in the background, the inscription at the top FATA ASPERA VINCES, in section 7 SEPTEMBRE 1831, the signature ROUVET on the side

Reverse: urn on pedestal with the names of commanders killed in the defense of Warsaw SOWINSKI / KICKI / KAMINSKI / ZYMIRSKI / MYCIELSKI / SKARSZEWSKI, at the top the inscription ILS REVIVRONT, PARIS 1831 in exerque
