List of contributions for the construction of a monument to Adam Mickiewicz in Vilnius
On the reverse side, detailed information on how the campaign to collect contributions for the construction of a monument to Adam Mickiewicz was to be carried out.
In May 1925, a competition for the design of the monument was announced. The chairman of the Building Committee was General Lucjan Żeligowski (there is a facsimile of his signature on the document). Implementation of the monument's construction dragged on due to location and financial problems, and was eventually suspended due to the outbreak of World War II. The concept of building the monument was revisited and eventually the monument was unveiled in 1984.
