Very rare vintage of Gelderland ducat, with the date written on the sides of the knight 163-8.
This ducat belongs to the iconic series of the Dutch Republic, which maintained the nearly unchanged “Knight” type for over 200 years. These coins were not only widely used in international trade but also served as a symbol of independence and the economic strength of the United Provinces.
