Rare medal by the renowned Gdańsk medallist Sebastian Dadler, struck in 1644 to commemorate the peace negotiations bringing an end to the Thirty Years’ War (1618–1648).
This specimen is the variety without the SD signature and the date in the obverse exergue.
Well-preserved, with attractive old patina and traces of original luster. Numerous contact marks in the fields are visible but do not significantly affect the overall impression. The medal remains pleasing and legible, with a clear relief.
An important and scarce historical piece, connected to one of the most significant events of 17th-century Europe. A medal of high artistic and symbolic value, desirable in advanced collections.
