Rare variety of the Toruń thaler featuring a six-pointed star above the reverse and a distinctive dot after CIV in the legend.
The obverse bears a broad bust of the king, while the reverse shows the coat of arms of Toruń flanked by the initials HDL – Hans David Lauer, mint official of Toruń.
The coin is preserved in near mint state with natural lustre and only lightly worn fields. Of outstanding importance due to its provenance – from the renowned Potocki Collection, with ownership mark behind the king’s head.
