One of the decorations of the Royal Polish coins offer of the 15th Premium Auction.
The only vintage of Elbląg tymfs.
Tymphs in Elbing were minted only in the last year of the Elbing mint's operation. After the resignation of the administrator Jost Karl Schröder, the mint was taken over by Friedrich Ludwig Stüber, whose initials FLS were placed on the coins. During the reign of August III of Poland, the mint issued a number of trial coins in pure silver, gold, or in the form of clips, and one of them is the tymf presented here.
There are two known varieties of these tymfs, differing mainly in the form of the maxim "Secundae Reductionis" (according to reduction): "Secund : red" and, as in this copy, "Sec - red".
Light surface hairliness.
Extremely sought-after and desired item by collectors of Royal Polish coins.
Unheard of in the trade, as confirmed by the Onebid archive, where its only listing in the presented variety is from 2008, the WCN Auction with an extremely high, for those times, sale amount of PLN 55,000 .
An item among the best collections of Royal Polish coins, both in terms of rarity and exceptional state of preservation. Excellent provenance from the distinguished Potocki collection is a perfect complement to the uniqueness of this tymf.
