Second series of the fifth loan of the city of Warsaw, issued April 1/14, 1901 - 500 rubles.
An extremely rare pre-World War I ruble bond of Warsaw. The second series of Warsaw's fifth loan of 1901 was intended to finance the construction of the city's sewer system. It consisted of three sections, 100 rubles, 500 rubles and 1,000 rubles. The 500 and 1,000 rubles of this issue are extremely rare - the mintage of these bonds was negligible (500 rubles were issued in only 1,200 pieces), and it should also be remembered that these bonds were subject to conversion to gold bonds in the 1920s and most of them were exchanged.
Pieces bear the seal and signature of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Paris, and also listed is the submitter of the bond for registration, probably a French citizen.
