The company was established in 1872 under the name Bank Włościański SA in Poznań. From 1917, the bank operated as Bank Handlowy w Poznaniu SA. Since 1921, the company's name was changed to Polski Bank Handlowy SA. After 1925, the bank found itself in a difficult financial situation, and in 1934, after several attempts to save the company, it was declared bankrupt.
A very rare action by a Poznan bank.
