Specimen (reference print) of a 4% Period II mortgage letter - the complete specimen consists of two prints - a mortgage letter specimen and a coupon sheet specimen - and in this form is offered at this auction.
Pledge letter templates were attached in the era to various types of official printings, sets of regulations, etc. In the case of Period II mortgage bonds, the templates are for the denomination of 5,000 zlotys. We now encounter 2 variations of these patterns, differing in printing details.
The specimen that is the subject of this auction is by far the rarer variety (the version with the inscription "TKZ LETTER OF Pledge" vertically on the left side.
It is worth mentioning that we currently do not know of any surviving pieces of issued Period II pledge letters - hence, only their patterns remain - we highly recommend them!
