The founder of the factory was Roman May - a chemist, teacher and industrialist. He became familiar with the methods of running a chemical factory near Dresden. After returning to Poznan, he opened his own phosphate fertilizer factory, which produced superphosphate. In later years, the factory was moved to Lubon.
