Republic of Poland, 3% Dollar Funding Bond, due October 1st, 1956

Twenty-Year 3% Dollar Funding Loan

Bond of $500, issued October 1, 1936.

Zero-numbered design with "SPECIMEN" stamps and round hole perforations.

Bond printed in the United States at the American Bank Note Company (Franklin Lee Division) printing plant.

The purpose of issuing this loan's bonds was to exchange interest coupons on government and Treasury-guaranteed dollar loans payable between 1936 and 1938:

  • 20-Year 6% Dollar Loan of 1920.
  • The 25-year Foreign 8% Gold Amortization Loan of 1925.
  • 6.5% Foreign Amortization Gold Loan maturing on 1/10/1965.
  • 7% Silesia Province Dollar Loan of 1928.
  • 7% Warsaw City Dollar Loan of 1928.
  • 7% BGK Gold Pledge Letters of Issue II P.Z.1 of 1928.
  • 8% Guaranteed Lien Letters of the Warsaw Earth Credit Society from 1924.

These bonds appear practically only as SPECIMENS (known extremely rare pieces issued).
