A scarce high-denomination note issued in Ljubljana during the German occupation in 1944. The obverse features an ornate design with the portrait of a woman in traditional Slovenian dress at left and the Ljubljana provincial coat of arms at right. The central field displays the denomination 1000 Lire with intricate floral ornamentation and detailed guilloches. The reverse is equally decorated with repeating patterns, reinforcing the official nature of this wartime issue.
Certified by PMG as 64 EPQ Choice Uncirculated, this specimen boasts fully original paper quality, strong colors and sharp details. The EPQ designation underlines its untouched state of preservation, rare for such a high denomination.
