A wonderful relic of the past.
A collection of Polish and European banknotes from the interwar period, untouched for decades.
Enclosed in an old binder, with individual cards created, where many of the banknotes are presented simultaneously on both sides, meaning that many items have been duplicated.
It is difficult to count the number of pages due to the fragile paper used to create the presentation cards, nevertheless the attached video illustrates page by page.
The banknotes on the pages are not glued, but only inserted into pages and inserts specially prepared by the collector. This beautifully shows what challenges the paper money collector of the time faced, where creativity and manual labor were needed to prepare the base for the collection being built.
The collection includes Polish banknotes, including two 500 Dyre with a nice and natural presence, a pair of 1919 zlotys, a 1919 2 zloty, numerous May-February marks - including and fresh and well-preserved pieces, inflation marks and Viennese marks, pass tickets headed by a miner, and several "thistles."
The collection also includes substitute issues including and Lviv, Jędrzejów, and a few securities and food cards.
Foreign countries are richly covered. While Austria and German-language notgelds are not very impressive ( there is also Danzig), the presence of old Lithuania and Czechoslovakia is. We can also find a large representation of German banknotes, Local Russia, but also Tsarist Russia with several valuable items. A few items from Italy and Ukraine.
There is no doubt that studying the album, or at least diligently watching the presentation video, can bring tangible benefits.
A beautiful collection, perhaps without outstanding rarities, but with many strong items and interesting facts. Incredibly atmospheric, hence we are selling it as a whole in a Premium Auction stationary session!
