5% mortgage bond of the first series - 250 rubles
The Credit Society of the City of Warsaw granted loans in first-series mortgage bonds from 1897 to 1923 (initially on blanks in ruble currency, then on blanks stamped into mark currency).
The mortgage letter that is the subject of this auction was issued on 11.03.1914.
Piotrkow's TKM pledge letters in ruble currency are among the remarkable rarities. Until recently, they were known only for sections of 1,000 rubles. Today, specimens of all denominations are known, and in this auction we are pleased to offer for the first time the denomination of 250 rubles.
In addition, this pledge letter was issued on a blank dated 1912, not noted in M. Kurek's "Catalogue of Pledge Letters". (blank with printed date:"In the city of Piotrków, on January 17/30, 1912"). This blank will be included in the Supplement to the "Catalogue of Pledge Letters", which is being prepared by the author.
