Beautiful and extremely impressive issue commemorating the coronation of Augustus II the Strong as the king of Poland, who on September 15 in the Wawel Cathedral swore, as the saying in the rim says, to rule and defend the Republic of Poland.
The highest denomination among the coronation issues of Augustus II the Strong.
Double ducat minted in Dresden, most likely with stamps of Martin H. Omeis.
Plenty of mint bloom. Minor damage on the surface.
Obverse: rider on a horse, in ancient clothing
Reverse: sword and a scepter passing through the crown, on the sides the inscription REGET ET DEFENDET (he will rule and defend) and an inscription in six lines
